Check this article out about
measuring emotion.
Teresa Marrin Nakra, a new music professor at my old school, is involved with this project. I found the link while visiting TCNJ's website. I believe the jacket was part of her doctoral project at MIT.
My initial reaction is that I'm not quite sure if the jacket's data can really document or register emotion. Physical reaction yes, emotion...hmm. I can run a distance and increase my heart rate the same way my heart could race if I were playing a movement on violin that required a lot of movement and speed; however, I could be sad, happy, mad while running or performing.
I have to think about this a bit more.
